- Abstract
- There are two major trends in pediatric dentistry recently. One is the declining treatment of traditional dental caries, and the second is the growing interest in prevention. Therefore, there is a need for a change in the treatment method of pediatric dentistry until now. In Japan, which experienced such social change before Korea, in 2018, the diagnosis and insurance items were added as ‘Children's Oral Dysfunction'. It is based on baby dentistry, which manages the oral health of young children. Baby dentistry is for infants up to 18 months, including
newborns. The main content contains the premise, way of thinking, and specific contents of baby dentistry. This
article is based on the recently published books of 'Early Treatment' and 'Baby Dentistry', and I recommend that you refer to the book for more details.
